Garlic Pizza Bread
Servings: Approximately 2-4
Ingredients:
1/2 ciabatta bread (sliced horizontally)
3/4 cup tomato basil marinara sauce
1 garlic head
11 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 tsp honey
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 tbsp chili oil (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Cut the top off the garlic head.
Place the garlic in a stoneware mini round cocotte or wrap it in aluminum foil.
Add honey, olive oil, salt, and pepper to the garlic.
Cover the garlic and bake for 60-90 minutes.
Once ready, remove from the oven and increase the temperature to 400°F.
In a bowl, combine the softened butter with the roasted garlic cloves (squeezed out of their skins), salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Spread the garlic-butter mixture over the sliced ciabatta and bake for 5 minutes.
Add the marinara sauce, spreading it evenly.
Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and bake for 17-20 minutes.
Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes to achieve extra golden cheese.
Allow the pizza bread to cool slightly, then drizzle with chili oil, garnish with chopped parsley, and slice before serving.
